I often think about writing more poetry. This page might serve as motivation to write more and share it.

This first poem was written years ago when I was in college as a lind of joke entry to the literary magazine. Much to my surprise, it ended up winning second place in poetry. I wrote it in a friend’s room, looking around at her decorations which served as the inspiration for most of the imagery. I was not on anything at the time.

Spaghetti Falling Out Of My Head!

Alligator Cars, Elvis Lives On Mars,
Storms Blowing Through The Shed!

A Bit Of String, A Real Pink Thing,
My Train Is Turning Red!

Yellow Hearts, Great Big Carts,
A Cow Turns Into Lead!

Lovely Flowers, Bridal Showers,
A Fish Gets Tired And Goes To Bed!

Luscious Pillows, Weeping Willows,
A Lonely Car Recalls The Dead!


Magic Posters, Roller Coasters,
A Frog Is Waiting To Be Wed!

Story Books, Fishing Hooks,
I’m Eating Mouldy Bread!

Talking Lakes, A Groundhog Wakes,
Not A Word Was Said!
